On October 19 this year in the Embassy in a solemn atmosphere, the medal of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation "For Strengthening Military Cooperation" was presented to the Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation in Chittagong Mr. A.Imran. Thus, his personal contribution to the preservation of the memory about the Expedition of the Soviet Navy to carry out the minesweeping operation in the Bay of Bengal and work to lift sunken ships in the port of Chittagong (April 1972 - May 1974) was marked.

Presenting this medal, the Russian Ambassador H.E. Mr. A.Ignatov showed his sincere gratitude to Mr. A.Imran, who initiated the construction of a memorial stele to Soviet sailors in Chittagong. He expressed the confidence that this monument, symbolizing the relations of close friendship and cooperation between the peoples of our two countries, will remind Bangladeshis of the selfless heroism of our servicemen during the period of establishment of the young independent state.
