The Ambassador of Russia to Bangladesh Mr. Alexander Ignatov visited BAF Base Zahurul Haque in Chittagong, which houses Yak-130 aircraft delivered to Bangladesh from Russia.

 

In a conversation with Ambassador Air Commodore AHM Fazlul Haque highly appreciated the quality and tactical characteristics of Russian military equipment.

 

 

 

Mr. Alexander Ignatov had a meeting with the group of Russian experts, who are living at BAF Base and carry out aircraft maintenance.

Ambassador made a courtesy call on Chittagong City Corporation Mayor Mr. A J M Nasir Uddin and discussed with him issues of bilateral cooperation. Mr. A J M Nasir Uddin expressed interest in bolstering friendly relations between Chittagong City Corporation and Russian municipal corporations. He mentioned, in particular, that it would be desirable to establish twin city relations with the city of Vladivostok (in the east of Russia).

In Cox’s Bazaar Mr. Alexander Ignatov had a meeting with General Manager of the Royal Tulip hotel Mr. P.Dipak. They discussed plans to arrange at the hotel a festival of Russian cuisine on the occasion of the 45^th Anniversary of the establishing of the diplomatic ties between Bangladesh and Russia. This event will also include Russian film show, sports competition, art exhibition and a concert of Russian music.
