The Embassy of Russia in Bangladesh organized a Russian Food Festival in Cox’s Bazar on January 5-8, 2017. The fest was held at Royal Tulip Hotel.

At the inauguration ceremony, guests of the Festival, according to Russian traditions, were welcomed by bread and salt. A concert program of famous Russian songs was prepared for participants. They could taste such Russian dishes as borsch, uha, solyanka, pancakes, Moscow cutlets and many other things, including traditional Russian drinks mors and kvas.

Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh H.E. Mr. Alexander Ignatov, the Embassy’s staff, representatives of the Soviet/Russian Alumni Association of Bangladesh, residents and visitors of the resort town took part in the culinary event. The Festival got a positive coverage in press and on TV.

The Embassy plans to repeat such programs in the future and continue to acquaint Bangladeshi people with the cuisine of different regions and nationalities of Russia.
