January 25 marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of Bangladesh (1972).

On the occasion of this significant event, the foreign ministers of the two countries have exchanged congratulatory messages. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the traditionally friendly Russian-Bangladeshi relations and confirmed their willingness to deepen bilateral political dialogue and increase cooperation in trade, the economy and other areas for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries and in the interest of stability and security in South Asia.
