The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh informs with profound grief of the tragic death in a terrorist attack of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov on December 19, 2016 in Ankara. All of us are deeply shocked by the assassination and extend condolences to his family and friends.  

Russia condemns this inhumane crime aiming to undermine collective efforts to achieve a political settlement in Syria as well as normalization of relations between Russia and Turkey. This tragic event compels us to make the uncompromising fight against terrorism in all its manifestations ever more active.

A book of condolence will be opened at the Russian Embassy in Dhaka (House NE(J)9, Road 79, Gulshan-2, Dhaka-1212) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21.
