The Ambassador of Russia to Bangladesh Mr. Alexander Ignatov visited the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare & Overseas Employment at the invitation of H.E.Mr.Nurul Islam. The Minister took the initiative to explore the ground of sending Bangladeshi workforce to Russia. He stressed that they would be ready, taking into account the requirements of the Russian Side in skilled specialists, to establish cooperation in this sphere and to send Bangladeshi specialists in different fields in compliance with the respective requests.

The Ambassador, for his part, emphasized that there was a lack of necessary legal basis for such cooperation. Some time ago, the Russian side proposed to conclude a package of model agreements to regulate foreigners’ staying in our country. Early signing of the agreements would facilitate development of mutually beneficial cooperation in this sphere.

The Minister assured that he would do his best to accelerate the endorsement of the above said agreements.
