On 17 September 2016, voting in the election to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation took place at polling station No 8036 at the Embassy of Russia in Bangladesh. Russian citizens, residing permanently or temporarily in Bangladesh within Dhaka consular district, participated in the voting. 

The day before, on September 16, a polling station was opened in Rooppur, Pabna district, Rajshahi, where specialists of Russian companies “Inter RAO-Engineering”, JSC “Atomstroyexport”, “Orgenergoproect” and “Orgenergostroy” are working on construction of Rooppur nuclear power plant.   

On September 17, voting was also organized at the Consulate General of Russia in Chittagong.

Russian citizens, living in Bangladesh, took an active part in the election. All the staff of the Russian diplomatic missions and their family members got an opportunity to cast their votes.
