A wide range of issues regarding bilateral cooperation in the field of maritime transport was discussed during the meeting between Ambassador of Russia to Bangladesh Alexander Ignatov and Ashoke Madhab Roy, Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping of Bangladesh, on August 14, 2016.

The sides exchanged thoughts on ways to strengthen the legal framework of cooperation and on prospects of Russia’s participation in priority development projects of Bangladesh, including Russia’s involvement in construction and equipment of deep-sea ports. Bangladesh is interested in importing special machinery from Russia as well as in Russian investments, Ashoke Madhab Roy said. The officials spoke in favour of intensifying cooperation in this field on government-to-government and business-to-business basis.
