Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and North Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation M.L.Bogdanov and Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry K.V.Shuvalov participated in an observer capacity in the work of the 45th meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers on May 5-6 this year.

The main topic of the meeting was "Islamic values ​​for sustainable peace, solidarity and development". More than 600 representatives from member states and observers contributed to its discussion. Russian representatives also held a number of useful meetings with their foreign partners on the sidelines of the session. Separate consultations on the Middle East issues with an emphasis on the Syrian conflict settlement were also conducted with the leadership of the Foreign Ministry of Bangladesh.

M.L.Bogdanov convened a meeting with the chairman of the party Bangladesh Tariqat Federation, MP, S.B.Maizvandari. The officials discussed certain current matters concerning Russia-Bangladesh relations highlighting the strengthening of political dialogue on the international arena that is of mutual interest of Moscow and Dhaka. The special attention was paid to the promising tasks on the agenda of the “Russia – Islamic world” Group of Strategic Vision, in which Mr Maizvandari has played a significant role as a representative of Bangladesh for the past several years.
