Bangladesh takes part in the 4th meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia-Islamic World”
On November 10-13 the 4th annual meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia-Islamic World” was held in the capital of the Republic of Dagestan, Makhachkala (The Russian Federation). The session was dedicated to the suppression of terrorist and extremist activity, in particular through the work with young people.
This year the forum brought together 70 public and political figures from the largest Muslim states. In the opening, President of Russia V.V. Putin conveyed the message, during which he stressed that “the Russian Federation considers it hugely important to foster friendly ties with Muslim countries both at a bilateral level and within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)”. He also noted in his welcoming speech that “Moscow and countries of the Islamic World have constructive economic, scientific and technical and humanitarian cooperation, as well as partnership in settling local conflicts and crisis situations”.
Mr. Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizvandari, a Member of Parliament and Chairman of the “Bangladesh Tariqat Federation”, participated in the forum. In his speech, he emphasized that for the sustainable development of the economy and trade, the tourism industry and cultural exchange programs, it is necessary to develop a common vision of a tolerant society and draw up “an action plan to counter terrorism effectively keeping ‘youths’ in the center”.
